The Artist's Father, Mark Suko, was the Lighthouse Keeper at Point Robinson from 1970 to 1971. In 1978 the Lighthouse became automated and in 2008 after more than 90 years of service the fifth-order lens was replaced with a small plastic beacon mounted outside the lantern room, thus bringing an era to a close. Point Robinson Lighthouse marks the halfway point between Seattle and Tacoma, WA.
