This painting expresses that wonderful time of day when the sun goes behind the mountains and the valley is full of brilliant atmosphere. While I based this painting on the San Fernando Valley (where we used to live), similar scenes can be viewed in many parts of our country. I hope this painting captures some of those energetic and yet relaxing qualities of that special time of day when the sunlight begins to fade and the headlights begin to glow.
